Gould Effect

Would somebody PLEASE explain to me why I can, in Vice City: San Andreas the video game, stomp a pregnant woman to death and watch the blood pool and then shoot the fifty cops who come to arrest me, and kids are allowed to buy it, but when I am able to have laughably low-resolution sex in the game it gets pulled from retailer shelves and the game developer gets sued? Er, last time I checked murder was a crime and sex was not.
